Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said on Monday that Rs 9,417 crore has been allocated for the development of railways in AP. He stated that these allocations are 11 times more than the UPA and that the railways is committed for changing the face of 73 stations in AP. The Minister spoke to the media in New Delhi.He also mentioned that Rs 5,337 crores was allocated to Telangana.
That's why there is no specific mention in the budget: The Minister mentioned Railway lines are being connected from AP to Telangana, Odisha and Tamil Nadu. “More Namo Bharat and Vande Bharat trains have been allocated to AP and steps are being taken to increase the speed of trains. Development of railways is taking place with the help of modern technology.
Several railway projects are already being worked out in AP and that is why there is no specific mention of ap railway projects in the budget. No injustice has been done to Telangana or Andhra Pradesh in the allocation of railway projects. Electrification of all railway lines in AP has been completed.” The minister elaborated .
Amrit Bharat Trains for the Poor
The Union Minister said that a defence system “Kavach” is being set up within the limits of important stations. He said that Amrit Bharat trains are being run for the benefit of the poorer sections. Ashwini Vaishnaw said he recently went to Switzerland and inspected the railway tracks there. He stated that Switzerland's system will be followed in the maintenance of railway tracks.
Meanwhile, Vijayawada Railway Divisional Railway Manager Narendra A Patil said that recently railway projects in AP were discussed with the Chief Minister. He said the projects are being expedited with the help of the state government and plans are being drawn up for the development of railway lines in the next four years.
Narendra A Patil said there are proposals for Vande Bharat sleeper trains for AP. He also said that sleeper trains between Visakhapatnam and Tirupati should be more and Vijayawada railway station has been included in the NSG-1 category. He mentioned that Rs 271 crores has been allocated for the development of Rajahmundry railway station and automatic signalling is being completed on the Visakhapatnam-Vijayawada line.
