RBI caps investment by a bank in AIF scheme at 10%

The Reserve Bank on Tuesday capped contributions by a single regulated entity (RE), including banks and NBFCs, at 10 per cent of the corpus of an Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) scheme. Also, collective contribution by all REs in any AIF Scheme should not be more than 20 per cent of the corpus of that scheme, said the Reserve Bank of India (Investment in AIF) Directions, 2025.

Centre aims to collect `4.18 lakh cr from cess, `1.72L cr from surcharge in FY26

The Centre aims to collect cess of over Rs 4.18 lakh crore in the current fiscal, an 8 per cent growth over the collections as per Revised Estimates (RE) of Union Budget FY25, Parliament was informed on Tuesday. Similarly, collections from surcharges are expected to increase about 13 per cent to over Rs 1.72 lakh crore in the ongoing 2025-26 fiscal year (April-March).
