Sri Kanakaputlamma, a Class 8 student from the Municipal High School in Mangalagiri, who has been selected to participate in the ‘Student Mock Assembly’ being held on Constitution Day. Andhra Pradesh IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh invited the student and her family to his residence in Undavalli and congratulated her personally.
Kanakaputlamma secured this opportunity after excelling in essay writing, debates, and quiz competitions held at her school. Lokesh praised her dedication and highlighted the importance of encouraging young minds to participate in democratic processes early on.
The minister also interacted warmly with her family. He learned that her father, Ramu, is a person with a disability and sustains the household by selling vegetables on a tri-scooter. Ramu mentioned that both his daughters benefit from the ‘Talliki Vandhanam’ scheme and that he receives a monthly pension of ₹6,000.
Lokesh assured the family of the government’s full support, saying, “Mangalagiri has become like my family, and with that, my responsibility has grown.” He wished Kanakaputlamma great success and encouraged her to continue striving for excellence.
