The Telangana Government's new Government Order (GO) marks a major step forward in supporting and growing the Telugu film industry. Today, Telugu cinema reaches global audiences. High-budget films using advanced exhibition technologies like IMAX, Dolby Cinema, and HDR demand significant investments. The new policy recognizes this reality and offers a clear, regulated framework for eligible films to apply for enhanced ticket prices.

 Key details of new policy:

Enhanced ticket prices are not automatic. Eligible high-budget films must apply and government authorities will review each request to ensure benefits are granted responsibly. Regardless of theater type (AC, Non-AC, Special, or Multiplex) or location, all theaters must reserve 25% of their total seating capacity for a non-premium category. This ensures movies stay accessible to everyone. Allowing 5 shows per day helps big releases meet peak demand quickly. This frees up screens faster for small and mid-budget films, creating more variety for moviegoers.

The policy supports a dedicated welfare fund for cine workers, recognizing their vital contribution to the industry. This policy goes beyond ticket pricing. It builds a stronger, more sustainable film ecosystem that encourages investment, adopts modern tech, boosts smaller films, and protects workers. When Telugu cinema grows, the creative economy grows, creating new opportunities and a brighter future for all.
