The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested Karnati Vijetha Reddy, a Data Entry Operator at the Tahsildar Office in Huzurnagar Mandal, Suryapet district on Saturday, while accepting Rs 12,000 bribe from a farmer.

The complainant, a resident of Karakkayalagudem, had recently completed the registration of inherited farmland and approached the office to collect the proceeding papers. The operator allegedly demanded Rs 20,000 but settled for Rs 12,000 after negotiation. Following a formal complaint, ACB officials laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed.

The incident raises serious concerns about corruption in land mutation procedures and revenue department operations.
