Addl Collector appeals to women to take adv of govt schemes

Medchal Malkajgiri District Additional Collector Radhika Gupta said on Thursday that the State Government is implementing several welfare schemes for the upliftment of women and appealed that women should develop economically by taking advantage of such schemes. She  was the chief guest at an awareness program on Ramp (Rising and Accelerating MSME Performance Scheme) for SHG women and women entrepreneurs in the district under the aegis of We Hub (Women Entrepreneurs Hub, Ministry of ITE&C, Govt. of Telangana) DRDA.

Addressing the women entrepreneurs, the Additional Collector said that the Central and State Governments are implementing many  welfare schemes including loans to self-help grou[ women with 35 per cent subsidy. She expressed her happiness that women are making profits in business and asked them to bring to the notice of the government if they have any problems in marketing the business and obtaining loans.  She stated that the selected women traders will be trained in business skills, product development and marketing.

Speaking on the occasion, WeHub Director Zahid Shaikh said that the program, which is being implemented under the aegis of the World Bank and the Ministry of MSME of the Union Government, will provide financial assistance on subsidy to women-led businesses/micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) and that the two-year-long program will give selected women entrepreneurs across the state an opportunity to increase their income individually. 

WeHub  Associate Director Uma  said that as part of this initiative, women traders in sectors such as textiles, food manufacturing and handicrafts will get training in product development & diversification, branding & market access, credit linkage and expert mentoring support. Subsequently, applications were received from the member who received basic training.
