Aim is to irrigate every piece of land: Minister Parthasarathy

The farmers are experts at water management and their expertise would be used to streamline the proper use of water

Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations, Kolusu Parthasarathy said on Saturday that all the irrigation experts at the grassroots play a crucial role and the association with them would be revived. Minister Parthasarathy said that the government's goal is to bring irrigation water to every last piece of land. He said that the state government is giving high priority to water resources and agricultural sectors.

He said that the state Chief Minister has paid special attention to strengthen the irrigation association system. He said that efforts are being made to remove all obstacles in the agricultural sector and benefit the farmers. He said that the government has recognized that the farmer’s expertise is very necessary to help the struggling farmers. He explained that the irrigation associations that were getting weak are being revived with the decisions taken by the state Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

He said that the elections to these irrigation associations or water communities were held in a peaceful atmosphere without any clashes anywhere in the state. He said that if the associations are strong, then a lot will be done for the farmers. He said that with this, all the irrigation associations under the Krishna Western Delta will become strong and that farmers will benefit from this. He said that the government has already suffered a loss of thousands of crores due to the delay in the construction of the Polavaram project but from now on, the government will take steps to build it without delay. He expressed concerned that farmers have lost approximately ten thousand crores in the last five years. He said that the government will take swift steps to complete the construction of the Chintalapudi project and that all the public representatives are providing a lot of help and cooperation towards providing better governance to the people. 

Vemuru MLA Nakka Anand Babu said that the state is running a public welfare regime. He said that under the leadership of Nara Chandrababu Naidu as the Chief Minister of the state, a lot is happening for the farmers. He said that the government is working with the welfare of the farmers as its objective. He said that the elections of irrigation associations have been held for the development of the farmers.

Pathipadu MLA B Ramanjaneyulu said that the government will strengthen the system of self-administration for the development of farmers and that the government is making special efforts to provide irrigation water to every acre.

Election Officer S K Abutaleem, Water Resources Project Guntur SEP P Venkataratnam, Repalle RDO Ramalakshmi, Assistant Election Officer, Chirala DE N K V Prasad, district officials of various departments, and others participated in this program.

 The Krishna West Delta Project Committee elections in Bapatla district were held on Saturday at the Water Resources Department Divisional Engineer’s office in Kuchipudi village of Amartaluru mandal. Pantani Muralidhar filed his nomination for the post of Chairman and Nuvula Sunil Chowdhury filed his nomination for the post of Vice Chairman. All the committee members of the associations supported both of them. With this, the Election Officer and District Resources Department SE S K Abhutaleem officially declared the elections as unanimous. Pantani Muralidhar as Chairman and Nuvula Sunil Chowdhury as Vice Chairman were presented with certificates of unanimous election. District In-charge Minister Parthasarathy, who attended the program, congratulated the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the water associations. Later, Vemuru MLA Nakka Anand Babu, Prathipadu MLA B Ramanjaneyulu and officials congratulated the elected members.
