Air India Group plans extra capacity amid IndiGo disruptions

Air India Group on Saturday said it is working to add additional capacity to support passengers affected by the ongoing IndiGo flight disruptions. The airline noted that, since December 4, economy-class fares on non-stop domestic routes have been proactively capped to prevent automatic fare surges triggered by demand-and-supply algorithms.
Both Air India and Air India Express have already implemented fare caps, the statement said, adding that it is not technically feasible to cap fares across all possible flight combinations.
