The Telangana government is leaving no stone unturned ahead of today’s crucial High Court hearing on the 42% reservation for Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies. Treating the matter as one of utmost priority, the State has mobilized its top legal and political leadership to ensure a strong defense of its stand.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy personally spoke to senior Congress leader Abhishek Manu Singhvi, urging him to appear in person before the High Court and argue the State’s case. Following the CM’s direction, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Ministers Ponnam Prabhakar and V. Srinivas Goud met Singhvi in Delhi to brief him on the case and request his personal presence in Hyderabad.
The delegation, which had also monitored proceedings in the Supreme Court earlier this week, held consultations with legal experts and senior officials to finalize the government’s strategy.
A special review meeting was held for over three hours at CM's residence in the evening to discuss the legal course of action and coordination for the High Court hearing. The meeting was attended by Dy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, AICC in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan, PCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud, and senior ministers.
