12th Anniversary of Vikalangula Voice magazine to be held on Aug 26

The 12th anniversary celebrations of Viklangula Voice monthly magazine will be held on August 26 at the Sundarayya Vignana Kendram in Hyderabad from 1 PM onwards, according to P. Umar Khan, honorary adviser to the magazine.

A poster announcing the celebrations was unveiled at the Helen Keller educational institutions campus on Friday. The poster was released by Viklangula Voice editor M. Adivayya, manager K. Venkat, National Platform for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (NPRD) state treasurer R. Venkatesh, and HK Rehabilitation directors Armugam and Shashidhar Reddy.

Umar Khan said Viklangula Voice was the only monthly magazine in the Telugu states dedicated to creating awareness among persons with disabilities. He said the magazine had been published for the past 11 years and had become an important platform for highlighting issues affecting people with disabilities.

It had also played an important role in disseminating information about laws, welfare schemes and government programmes to the disability community, he added. Khan said particular efforts were being made to create awareness among persons with disabilities living in rural areas.
