Deputy Chief Minister will join officials on a boat to tour pollution-affected zones in the Bay of Bengal off Uppaada’s coast

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Pithapuram MLA Pawan Kalyan is set to embark on a constituency tour on Thursday, with a special focus on the problems faced by fishermen in Uppaada. The visit is expected to draw wide attention, particularly as the actor-turned-politician will personally venture into the sea to examine pollution-related grievances raised by the local fishing community.

For months, fishermen in Uppaada have been voicing concern that increasing marine pollution is threatening their livelihoods. Many have claimed that industrial discharge and unchecked waste are damaging fish populations, leaving them with dwindling catches and economic uncertainty. Responding to these persistent complaints, Pawan Kalyan has decided to directly assess the situation.

According to party sources, the Deputy Chief Minister will join officials on a boat to tour pollution-affected zones in the Bay of Bengal off Uppaada’s coast. The inspection, they said, is aimed at verifying the fishermen’s claims and ensuring appropriate corrective measures are taken.

Following the sea visit, Pawan Kalyan will address a gathering of fishermen in Uppada, where he is expected to assure them of government support. He will listen to their grievances and outline steps that the administration plans to initiate for their welfare and livelihood security.

In addition to addressing fishermen’s issues, the Deputy Chief Minister’s itinerary includes inaugurations and foundation-laying ceremonies for several development works across Pithapuram constituency. The tour, therefore, is likely to combine both a welfare-driven agenda and a development-focused outreach.
