State Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Nadendla Manohar said on Monday that the government will make all efforts to protect and ensure the rights of consumers.
The second additional bench of the Consumer Commission (A New Additional District Consumer Redressal Commission) at Vijayawada City Civil Court was inaugurated on Monday at the second floor of Bezwada Bar Association building by Minister Nadendla Manohar along with Civil Supplies department commissioner Saurav Gaur, forum chairman and Bezwada Bar Association members.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that legal action will be taken against those who cheat the consumers by selling sub-standard and expired goods. “This additional bench will serve as a platform for consumer rights in Vijayawada. In addition to providing adequate information to the consumers, awareness on the rights of consumers will be created across the state. State of Andhra Pradesh is at the forefront of resolving consumer forum cases and providing compensation to consumers in the country.” Minister Nadendla Manohar said.
