The Andhra Pradesh Police, aligned with the vision of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, have intensified efforts to protect women and children through technology-driven monitoring, community awareness, and fast-tracked policing.
The state is establishing 'Shakti Suraksha War Rooms' to integrate CCTV surveillance, drone monitoring, GPS patrolling, and social media analysis. Additionally, emergency hotlines (Dial-112, Childline 1098, and Cybercrime 1930) have been closely coordinated for rapid response.
Nellore also ranks among the top three districts statewide for installations of the tech-enabled Shakti App. Officials have urged parents to strictly monitor their children's digital footprint given the rising vulnerability of minors to online fraud and gaming risks.
Swift Justice via 'Operation Dandayana'
To ensure deterrence, DGP Harish Kumar Gupta launched 'Operation Dandayana'. Backed by a 'Speed Trial Monitoring' system, this initiative focuses on fast-tracking cases of rape, domestic violence, and POCSO offences.
Key Directive:
All police units must file charge sheets in crimes against women within 60 days. Sensational cases are transferred to Fast Track Courts to guarantee speedy convictions.
Furthermore, the police are tracking repeat offenders through the SOS Security Agenda and utilizing the 'My Beat App' to boost public participation. To drive long-term reform, authorities are conducting 'Parivarthana Sadassulu' (reformative meetings) with social activists to bring about behavioural change in offenders and prevent repeat crimes.
