Andhra Pradesh will train around 1.02 lakh doctors, paramedical personnel and health department officials at different levels as part of preparations to roll out the Sanjeevani healthcare services across the State from January 1, 2027, Health Minister Satya Kumar Yadav said on Thursday. Reviewing the preparations with senior health department officials, the Minister said Sanjeevani services would be launched on a trial basis on December 10, followed by full-scale implementation across the State from January 1.

The training program is being planned from the grassroots level, covering ASHA workers and ANMs as well as district-level medical and health officials. The government is making arrangements at 2,008 Primary Health Centers and Urban Primary Health Centers for Sanjeevani services. Of these, dedicated rooms are being prepared at 537 centers, while UPS or inverter facilities will be provided at 1,726 centers to ensure uninterrupted power supply. These infrastructure arrangements are targeted for completion by November 30.

As part of the implementation, the department is identifying and appointing 2,277 patient service coordinators at health facilities. They will coordinate patient services, maintain medical information and facilitate coordination between health centers and hospitals. Another 76 district-level service coordinators have been identified to strengthen coordination among primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare institutions. Their responsibilities will include identifying implementation-related problems, coordinating with relevant departments and ensuring smooth delivery of Sanjeevani services.

Around 74 medical applications and portals belonging to the Central and State governments are proposed to be integrated with Sanjeevani. The first phase will focus on systems required for healthcare delivery, field-level activities and monitoring, with integration targeted for completion by December 10. Systems such as NextGen and e-Aushadhi are among those proposed for integration.

In subsequent phases, systems associated with the Dr NTR Vaidya Seva Trust, health screening data, diagnostic services and Central government health information platforms will also be brought into the integrated framework. A State Sanjeevani Integrated and Control Centre is being established at Mangalagiri under the Tata MD organization to monitor services across the State and facilitate coordination. Around 275 personnel are being recruited and trained for the center.
