Technology, initially designed to simplify life, is increasingly being exploited for fraud. Shikha Goel, Director General of Telangana Cyber Security Bureau on Saturday highlighted the growing misuse of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across industries, urging for better safeguards and accountability in its use. Goel Speaking at the 25th Annual Conference of ISACA Hyderabad, themed ‘TRUST AICS – 2025: Where AI Integrates Governance, Cybersecurity, and Privacy.’ , she stressed that AI, while a tool for empowerment, is also weaponized by criminals through deepfakes, scams, and fraud. ‘Without trust, technology collapses into fear,’ Goel said, pointing to the daily rise in cybercrime reports at the Cyber Security Bureau.
The event marked ISACA Hyderabad's 25 years of advancing governance, cybersecurity, and privacy. Keynote speakers, including Arindam Mukherjee and Sandeep Shukla, addressed the rapidly evolving digital landscape. Mythreyee Ganapathy from Google captivated the audience with insights on ‘The Future of Digital: Agentic AI.’ The conference underscored the critical need for trust in securing the future of AI technology. The day also featured thought-provoking panel discussions. Experts examined ‘The Influence of AI in Investigation, Privacy, and Audit’ and analyzed ‘The Role and Impact of AI on Global Capability Centres (GCCs),’ providing actionable insights to the audience. Volunteers were honored for their dedication, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Chapter Secretary Raj Pawar.
