Actress Bhumi Pednekar urges people across India to support flood-hit Assam as over 7 lakh remain affected

Bollywood actress Bhumi Pednekar has appealed to people across the country to support those affected by the devastating floods in Assam. According to reports, more than 7.21 lakh people across 11 districts remain affected, while five major rivers continue to flow above the danger level.

Sharing a video on Instagram, Bhumi highlighted the scale of the crisis, saying lakhs have been displaced, over 40 people have lost their lives, and entire villages have been washed away. “Assam needs us,” she said, urging people to donate essentials such as food, mattresses, sanitation supplies, and support evacuation efforts.

“If you see the visuals, your heart will break. Assam really needs our support. Please donate as much as possible and spread this message so our help reaches those in need,” she said. Bhumi captioned the video: “Assam’s drowning, you’ve shown up every time, show up for them now. #Assam #Floods.”
