Assembly failed to discuss public issues: Bandi

Metro India News | Hyderabad : Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay on Sunday  remarked that the public feels as though the state Assembly sessions never truly took place. He stated that the sessions were considered to have occurred only when there is a discussion on the people's concerns and the implementation of promises made and added that the Assembly proceedings did not reflect this. He noted that the BRS party was suspended from the Assembly and added that the BJP was denied the opportunity to speak.

He commented that the Assembly proceedings were entirely one-sided and merely a formality. He pointed out that there was no actual discussion regarding the 'Six Guarantees' in the Assembly. He observed that the Congress party was neither discussing the Six Guarantees nor the promises made regarding development.  He questioned whether the farmhouses were being turned into tourist destinations and asked as to  who authorized the  visits to the farmhouses of private individuals.

He recalled CM Revanth Reddy’s allegations in the Assembly regarding land encroachments and stated that if evidence exists, the lands should be reclaimed. He alleged that an opportunity was created to extract money from the BRS party leaders and implied  that the matter was settled once the payment is made. He demanded that if the land grabbing had occurred, the evidence should be made public and the government should not only reclaim the land but also initiate criminal proceedings.

He added that the public was facing severe hardships due to the '22A' land restrictions and affirmed that they would wage a legal battle if necessary. He stated that the Congress party lacks the courage to face the Khairatabad assembly constituency by-election. He remarked that this was why MLA Danam Narender approached the Supreme Court adding that if the by-election were to take place, the political demise of the Congress would be inevitable. He asserted that the Congress party poses no competition to them and added that the real contest was between the BJP and the BRS parties.
