Hyderabad | August 26th, 2026: Axis Energy has announced its partnership with Lumara, a renewable energy platform launched by Brookfield in India, for the development, and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a 400 MW utility-scale solar project at Nandipadu Village, Nandyal District, Andhra Pradesh. The project is expected to create significant employment opportunities for local communities during both the construction and operational phases.
As part of the project, Axis Energy will execute the complete EPC scope for the solar plant, along with the development of the 400 kV Pooling Substation (PSS) and the associated 400 kV transmission line connecting the project to the Kurnool III CTUIL Substation, ensuring seamless evacuation of power to the national grid. The project is targeted for commissioning within 2027.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Joint Managing Director, Axis Energy, said: "The partnership brings together Lumara's capabilities and Axis Energy's proven expertise in renewable energy development and EPC execution. Together, we look forward to developing world-class renewable energy infrastructure that accelerates India's energy transition and supports its long-term sustainability ambitions."
This collaboration further reinforces Axis Energy’s position as one of India’s leading renewable energy developers and EPC companies, with proven capabilities across solar, wind, transmission and balance-of-plant infrastructure. The company has built a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects across India, with over 1.5 GW of commissioned projects and an 8+ GW development pipeline spanning wind, solar and hybrid projects.
Brookfield recently launched Lumara to accelerate India’s clean energy transition through the development of large-scale renewable energy projects. With plans to deploy approximately $600 million, the platform’s initial portfolio is expected to exceed 6 GW across solar, wind and battery energy storage systems (BESS). Lumara will focus on addressing key development bottlenecks, including PPA contracting, grid connectivity and land acquisition, to enable the faster delivery of reliable and flexible clean power for commercial and industrial customers. Backed by the Catalytic Transition Fund (CTF), the platform reflects Brookfield’s broader commitment to advancing clean energy and transition investments across emerging markets.
