Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday evening held a crucial meeting with leaders of the party’s Telangana unit at his residence in Undavalli. The discussions centered on the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election in Hyderabad and the long-pending reorganization of TDP’s organizational structure in Telangana.
About 15 Telangana TDP leaders, including Aravind Kumar Goud, Bakkani Narasimhulu, Nannuri Narsireddy, Krishnamachari, Ashok Kumar Goud, Nandamuri Suhasini, and Jyotsna, took part in the meeting.
Babu discussed at length whether the TDP should contest the Jubilee Hills seat or extend support to an NDA partner. According to party insiders, Naidu directed leaders to prepare a ground-level report and explore all political options, stressing that TDP should not remain inactive during such a significant electoral contest. He also directed the party members to extend support to the contesting candidate approved by the coalition parties. While he did not announce whether TDP will field a candidate, Chandrababu made it clear that the party will play an active role in Telangana’s politics going forward.
The meeting also focused on reviving TDP’s structure in Telangana. Leaders urged Naidu to expedite the appointment of a state president and complete pending district and mandal committee appointments.
