MLC Teenmaar Mallanna on Saturday announced the formation of the BC Employees Protection Cell to safeguard the rights of Backward Class (BC) government employees in Telangana. He stated that this cell will act as a protective shield against discrimination and harassment faced by BC employees in government offices. He alleged that eligible BC employees are being denied promotions through manipulation of seniority lists, calling it a serious injustice.

Mallanna expressed strong concern over targeted harassment by upper-caste officials, including issuing charge memos for minor reasons, unfair suspensions, repeated transfers, and caste-based humiliation. He cited real incidents to support these claims. During the BC Commission meeting in May 2025 at Professor Jayashankar Agriculture University, irregularities in seniority lists affecting BC employees’ promotions were reportedly exposed.

Similarly, in the Intermediate Board, Hyderabad, instances of discrimination, unnecessary charge memos and harassment against BC, SC and ST employees were brought to light. MLC Mallanna said that the Cell will function through four key mechanisms- Immediate response via a dedicated phone number and WhatsApp, quick resolution through coordination committees in every district, free legal assistance by experienced lawyers and filing complaints with evidence to top officials, including the Chief Secretary and ministers.

MLC Mallanna assured that complete confidentiality will be maintained, and complaints can be sent via WhatsApp to 9866524314. The legal team will verify evidence while protecting the complainant’s identity, he said. He also mentioned that his future goal is to bring a special Government Orders (GOs) to protect BC employees, similar to the SC/ST Atrocities Act.
