Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with grandeur at the Hare Krishna Golden Temple in Banjara Hills, drawing thousands of devotees across Hyderabad. The Lord appeared in three divine forms Sri Radha Govinda, Sri Godha Krishna, and Sri Laddu Gopal offering darshan throughout the day on Saturday.
The festivities began at 4:30 am with the sacred ‘Shodashopachara Seva,’ followed by Shringara Arati and Jhulan Seva, where devotees joyfully swung Sri Laddu Gopal. Throughout the day, devotees participated in rituals and received blessings.
A highlight of the morning was the ‘Sri Sudarshana Narasimha Homa,’ invoking welfare for all. A majestic offering of 56 food items (Chappan Bhog) and the grand Raja Bhoga Arati enriched the spiritual experience, enhanced by soulful bhajans and kirtans. Cultural performances of dance and music continued throughout the day, with constant distribution of prasadam.
Four elaborate Abhishekams were performed for Sri Radha Govinda, culminating in the grand ‘108-Kalasha Sandhya Maha Abhishekam’ at 6:30 pm. This included ceremonial bathing with panchamrita, fruit juices, herbal powders, flowers, navaratnas, and sacred waters collected from India’s seven holy rivers.
Following this, His Grace Sri Satya Gaura Chandra Dasa (President, Hare Krishna Movement Hyderabad) delivered an enlightening pravachan on the spiritual significance of Lord Krishna’s appearance, drawing from the Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.
The day concluded with a magnificent Sandhya Arati, soulful kirtans, traditional dances, and Jhulan Seva. Devotees were served sumptuous prasadam. Cultural exhibits showcased initiatives like Hare Krishna Challenge, Krishna Kids, Japa Club, and more, reflecting the movement’s vibrant spiritual and social impact.
