Demanding a CBI inquiry into corruption of Kaleshwaram project, Telangana State BJP president N Ramchander Rao today advocated for construction of a separate project at Tummadihatti to meet needs of irrigation water in this region.

Speaking to media persons at Sirpur Kagaznagar in Komaram Bheem Asifabad district, the BJP chief said there was a strong demand of irrigation water in this region after realignment of Pranahita-Chevella project. There was a need of a separate project to provide water to about 2.5 lakh acres, he said adding that the project should be constructed on the sangam of Wardha and Wainganga River near Tummadihatti which would solve irrigation water shortage.

Rao asked the State Congress government to prepare a DPR for the project and send to Central government for approval. The Central government is providing all kinds of assistance as soon as DPR is submitted, he said. “BJP never opposed projects that benefit the farmers. But party opposed corruption in Kaleshwaram project and our claims have been vindicated that there was huge corruption in which BRS leaders allegedly involved”, he alleged and accused KCR family of using the project as an “ATM” and misused crore of rupees.

The BJP chief also alleged that previous BRS government wasted crores of rupees public money with poor construction quality as a result Medigadda barrage was damaged and cracks in other dams were observed. The National Dam Safety Authority, which supervised Dam sites clearly showed design flaws and quality deficiencies. He said the Congress government has arrested only some officials. Why politicians and contractors were not arrested. Is there any nexus between ruling Congress party and BRS, Rao questioned.

The State BJP chief demanded a CBI inquiry. He said Justice P C Ghosh commission appointed by the Congress government has only revealed a few facts.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy visited Delhi 50 times leaving administration in lurch and did nothing for farmers and public so far.  Congress and BRS parties are two sides of the same coin, Rao asserted that there was a clear sentiments among the people that there should be a “double engine” government in Telangana.
