A blood donation camp was organized at IIMC College under the joint auspices of NSS Units I and II and the Government Blood Bank of the Institute of Preventive Medicine, Narayanguda. Inaugurating the program, the NSS Chairman and College Principal emphasized the importance of blood donation and mentioned that a single unit of blood can save up to three lives.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Madhavi, representative of the IPM Blood Bank, stated that blood donation does not cause any harm to the donor’s health and that blood is collected following scientific procedures with complete safety.
NSS Programme Officer Ramakrishna Irukulla described blood donation as a great humanitarian service. A total of 62 units of blood were voluntarily donated by NSS volunteers, NCC cadets, students and faculty members.
