US deportees dead?
A group of 146 Venezuelans deported from the US arrived in Venezuela hours before devastating twin quakes, with many now feared dead. After landing, the deportees were taken to a state-run holding facility and told they would be released after processing.
Survivors said the building collapsed when the tremors struck, trapping dozens under rubble. Ninoska Gutiérrez Rodríguez, 45, said she fled briefly before a falling wall pinned her legs.
