BRS seeks Revanth's resignation over HYDRAA

BRS MLC Dr. Sravan Dasoju on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on the Congress government after the Telangana High Court's observations on HYDRAA, describing the verdict as a "historic victory of the Constitution over authoritarian governance." Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that the court's direction regarding HYDRAA Commissioner A.V. Ranganath was a severe indictment of the Revanth Reddy government's functioning and demanded the Chief Minister's immediate resignation on moral grounds.

Dr. Sravan alleged that Commissioner Ranganath merely acted as an instrument while Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who also heads the Municipal Administration Department, was the real force behind HYDRAA's actions. He accused the government of carrying out demolitions without due process, targeting poor and middle class families while allegedly ignoring influential individuals. Claiming that the High Court verdict had exposed the government's "bulldozer style governance," he demanded compensation for those affected by demolitions, the immediate removal of the HYDRAA Commissioner, and urged the government not to challenge the court's order in higher courts.

The BRS leader further alleged that HYDRAA had become a tool of harassment rather than disaster management and warned that officials responsible for illegal actions would be held accountable under a future BRS government. He also claimed that the verdict vindicated the warnings earlier issued by BRS President K. Chandrashekar Rao and Working President K.T. Rama Rao about HYDRAA.

Also, BRS Legislature Party Whip and Quthbullapur MLA K.P. Vivekanand, speaking at his camp office in Pet Basheerabad, welcomed the High Court's observations and termed them a victory for poor people and the rule of law. He demanded a comprehensive inquiry by a sitting High Court judge into HYDRAA's functioning and alleged excesses. Vivekanand said the verdict had stripped Revanth Reddy of the moral authority to continue as Municipal Administration Minister, accused the government of misusing HYDRAA against ordinary citizens, and asserted that only a change in governance, not merely a change of officials, would end what he described as "bulldozer rule."
