The Central Government has extended the tenure of Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad by another six months, from June 1 to November 30, 2026.The extension was granted on the request of the Andhra Pradesh State Government. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, issued orders in this regard in accordance with All India Services (AIS) Rules 16(1)(DCRB) 1958.
Under Secretary Rajesh Kumar Yadav of the DoPT conveyed the approval through an official letter to the Principal Secretary (Political), General Administration Department of the Andhra Pradesh Government. Sai Prasad, who is currently serving as Chief Secretary, was originally scheduled to retire at the end of this month. However, with the state government keen on utilizing his continued services, it had sent a proposal to the Centre seeking a six-month extension. The Union Government has now formally approved the request. This is the second extension for the senior IAS officer, allowing him to continue in the top bureaucratic post till November 30, 2026.
