Co-operative societies to be setup for various EWS corporations: Minister

S Savita, Minister for BC, EWS Welfare, Handlooms and Textiles informed on Friday that Credit Co-operative Societies will be set up for various EWS(Economically Weaker Sections) caste based welfare corporations on the lines of the Brahmin Co-operative Credit Society. She informed that as part of the aim of creating one entrepreneur from every household, EWS community will be given opportunities in MSME parks. 

Minister Savitha held a meeting with the Chairmen, Directors and representatives of various caste associations at the state secretariat in Amaravati on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Savitha said that various welfare programs are being launched for the empowerment of EWS communities. As part of the implementation of various schemes, the coalition government has allocated Rs 10,608.61 crore to EWS corporations in the budget 2025-26. 

Out of these Kamma Corporation was allotted Rs 1,711.42 crore, Reddy Corporation Rs 1,946.36 crore, Kshatriya Corporation Rs 260.20 crore, Kapu Corporation Rs 4,884.83 crore, Arya Vysya Corporation Rs 545.05 crore and Brahmin Corporation Rs 345.46 crore.  Minister Savitha recalled that in 2014-19 perios, the then state government had sanctioned Rs 172 crore for 13 district-level Kapu buildings and 487 mini Kapu buildings/Kapu community halls. 

She also assured that the foreign education scheme would be launched soon and recalled that that 2,234 students studied abroad in five years between 2014 and 2019 through the “NTR Overseas Education”(videshi vidya) scheme.  She also mentioned that as per the request of the Arya Vaishyas, the day of surrender of Matha Kanyaka Parameshwari was being observed as an official event.
