District Collector Bhorkhade Hemant Sahadeorao gave a call on Thursday for international sportspersons to emerge from the district and advised students to make sports a part of their daily routine. The collector inaugurated a “Play and Participate-Sports Day” event conducted as part of the state government’s 99 day “Praja Palana Pragathi Pranalika” initiative at the government high school in Mulugu Town. He distributed medals and certificates to those who displayed impressive performance in the ‘2026 CM Cup” .
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector mentioned that sports inculcate a sense of discipline, health awareness, team spirit and leadership qualities among youngsters. He advised the youth to make sports as a habit and achieve mental and physical fitness. He also suggested to the students to give equal importance to sports as much as they give to academics. Competitions were held in Wrestling, Karate, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi, Volleyball and Athletics.
