Collector urges drivers to follow traffic rules

District Collector Kumar Deepak on Saturday urged all vehicle drivers to strictly follow road safety regulations to ensure they reach their destinations safely. Speaking at a medical camp organized as part of the 'Arrive Alive' road safety initiative, the Collector stressed the importance of caution while traveling on roads. He was accompanied by District Transport Officer Ch. Ranjith at the event held in the premises of the District Transport Office in Vempalli under the Mancherial Municipal Corporation limits.

Addressing the gathering, Collector Kumar Deepak advised every driver to possess a valid driving license. Two-wheeler riders must wear helmets without fail, while those traveling in cars should always use seat belts, he added .The Collector further instructed drivers to strictly adhere to speed limits and warned them against driving under the influence of alcohol or while talking on mobile phones. He informed that the district administration is actively working to improve road safety by identifying and addressing blind spots, installing proper lighting on roads, and setting up effective traffic signal systems to better regulate vehicle movement.

On this occasion, medical examinations including eye tests were conducted for auto and lorry drivers. Doctors from the Government Medical College and Government Hospital examined nearly 200 drivers at the camp. Those in need were provided with necessary medicines and spectacles free of cost.
