HYDRAA which is meant to curb encroachments and protect the water bodies. is back in the fray . On Wednesday, HYDRAA officials demolished the wall on the side of the Outer Ring Road service road at Shamshabad. The compound wall taken up in survey numbers 601 and 602 was demolished in the wee hours of the morning.
The wall was demolished following complaints about disputed road site. However, the victims alleged that the authorities demolished the compound wall they had built on their patta land without giving any notice. The victims announced that they would fight a legal battle against the actions of the Hydra authorities.
HYDRAA has also decided to take strict action against illegal dumping of construction and other waste. The company's teams are keeping a close watch on vehicles dumping waste in ponds, naalas and empty spaces. Four tippers were caught by the Hydra Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams for illegally dumping waste at various places in the middle of the night. They were dumping waste in Undasagar and a proclaine that was immediately levelling the poured soil.
Another lorry was caught pouring mud into the Devulapalli (Samarkunta) tank under Pet Basheerabad police station limits. The vehicle, the driver and the cleaner have been handed over to the police. The vehicles were seized by the police. Commissioner AV Ranganath warned that cases will be registered if soil and other waste is dumped in ponds and government lands and there is surveillance by hydra teams in all areas.
