TPCC President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud announced that the Janahita Padayatra will be commenced again in Telangana after August 23.
During an informal discussion with reporters at Gandhi Bhavan on Saturday, he expressed that the Padayatra has received a positive reception from the public, significantly motivating the party's grassroot members.
"The Padayatra is my initiative. However, there are individuals who have intentionally projected that it is under the leadership of AICC Telangana in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan. She participated in the Padayatra, as did various Ministers, MLAs, and senior party leaders. Initially, we had planned a bus tour, but it was transformed into a padayatra. The way this Padayatra is being conducted reminds me of the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, which traveled from Kanyakumari to Kashmir. I am solely responsible for leading this Padayatra," stated Mahesh Kumar Goud.
He went on to mention that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, along with various ministers and other leaders, will participate in the forthcoming Padayatra, which aims to engage with the public across all regions.
He expressed confidence that a BC candidate from the Congress party would eventually become the Chief Minister of Telangana. He responded to rumors about a rift between him and the Chief Minister, affirming their strong relationship.
Mahesh Kumar Goud noted that a survey is currently underway to choose the party candidate for the Jubilee Hills by-election. The candidate will be selected promptly following the receipt of the notification. He also pointed out that BRS President K Chandrashekhar Rao has deviated from the tradition of refraining from contesting elections after the death of a sitting MLA.
