Copyright and cheating case registered against news portal

Cybercrime police registered a copyright and cheating case against ‘Voice today news.com’ on Thursday for copying the news reports and news stories from Vijayakranti – Telugu newspaper. 

Police registered the case under the acts of cheating and copyright. Vijayakranti is being published under the ownership of Intercontinental Publication Private Limited since many years. Vijayakranti has gaining good readership in Telugu states.

With the intention of becoming popular among readers, ‘Voice today news.com’ allegedly copied the content and stories from the Vijayakranti newspaper verbatim. In this regard, the owner of the Vijayakranti newspaper has filed the case against ‘Voice today news.com’ in Cybercrime police.

In a complaint, it is stated that for a few days, ‘Voice today news.com’ copied the content from Vijayakranti newspaper without making any changes. They are cheating people by copying the content from the Telugu newspaper.

Cybercrime police registered the case under the BNS section 318 (4), copyright act 63, 65 and are investigating the case.
