CPI MP seeks CAG audit on Ram temple donations

CPI Rajya Sabha MP P. Sandosh Kumar on Thursday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking a CAG audit of donations to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust and a judicial probe into alleged financial irregularities. Citing media reports, Kumar said devotees had complained that gold, silver and other valuables offered at the temple remained unaccounted for.

He claimed an SIT had been formed, criminal cases registered and several persons arrested, while the inquiry findings were yet to be made public. Kumar demanded a CAG audit of all donations received since the trust's inception and an independent judicial inquiry. He also accused the RSS, VHP and BJP of politicising Lord Ram and urged the Prime Minister to protect devotees' faith.
