The Andhra Pradesh Police Department has conferred the ‘Award for Best in Crime Detection’ (ABCD)–2025 on officers for exceptional performance in solving complex criminal cases. The awards were presented at a ceremony at the Police Headquarters, where Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta felicitated the recipients with awards, cash incentives and commendation certificates.

The selection followed a detailed review conducted by CID Director General Ravi Shankar Ayyanar, who assessed cases solved during the first three quarters of the year. The evaluation focused on the effective use of technology, innovative investigative methods and efficiency in crime detection. Based on this process, 13 cases—four each from the first and second quarters and five from the third—were identified as exemplary, and officers instrumental in cracking them were honoured.
