In a bid to accelerate infrastructure development and improve civic amenities, the Commissioner of Cyberabad Municipal Corporation undertook a detailed field inspection of key projects in Chitrapuri Colony and Neknampur on Saturday.
At Chitrapuri Colony Main Road, the Commissioner examined the ongoing clearance of construction and demolition (C&D) waste along the roadside. Expressing concern over traffic congestion and encroachments, officials were directed to ensure complete removal of debris and maintain strict monitoring. Engineering teams were instructed to prepare comprehensive proposals for road widening in line with the approved Road Development Plan (RDP), aimed at improving traffic movement and strengthening urban infrastructure in the fast-growing locality.
The Commissioner later inspected the sewerage diversion works at Neknampur Chinna Cheruvu, currently being executed by the Public Health and Municipal Engineering Department (PHMED) under the AMRUT 2.0 programme. The project is intended to prevent untreated sewage from entering the lake and to improve sanitation standards in surrounding neighbourhoods.
A detailed review was also conducted on the major storm water drain project along Pandenavagu, which will connect to Neknampur Pedda Cheruvu. Taken up with an estimated outlay of Rs 99.50 crore, the project is expected to significantly mitigate flooding during heavy rains. Officials presented updates on progress, timelines, and implementation strategies to ensure timely completion of the works.
