Cybercrime arrests 24 accused, refunds 1.49 cr in April

Hyderabad city cybercrime unit arrested 24 accused persons and helped cyber fraud victims to get their total of Rs 1.49 crore in the month of April. Police arrested 24 accused persons from all over India. They are involved in 313 cases across India and their involvement is identified in 53 cases in Telangana. 11 accused arrested from Delhi, 1 each from Bihar,   Madhya Pradesh, 5 arrested from Maharashtra, 3 each from Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. 

These accused involved in 12 cases in Andhra Pradesh, 43 cases in Maharashtra, 24 cases in Delhi, 6 cases in Haryana, 9 cases in Jharkhand, 74 cases in Karnataka, 12 cases in Odisha, 4 cases in Punjab, 29 cases in Tamil Nadu, 20 cases in Uttar Pradesh, 22 cases in West Bengal, 8 cases in Rajasthan, 14 cases in Gujarat, 4 cases in Madhya Pradesh, 1 case in Mizoram, 3 cases in Puducherry, 10 cases in Kerala, 2 cases in Jammu and Kashmir, 2 cases in Bihar, 1 case in Andaman and Nicobar, 1 case each in Uttarakhand, 10 cases in Chhattisgarh and 2 cases in Goa.  

Police have seized 31 mobile phones, 38 cheque books, 29 debit cards, 20 SIM cards, 8 Bank Pass Books, 5 Rubber Stamps, 4 Shell Company Stamps, 4 Laptops, 115 Soap Bars, 2 OTP Detector, 2 QR Code Scanners, 2 PAN Cards, 2 Memory Cards and a Swiping Machine.  

The Cyber Crime Unit Hyderabad City refunded a total amount of Rs. 1, 49, 85,333 in stock trading and investment, FedEx and Money laundering, OTP fraud, Credit Card fraud, Customer Care fraud, APK File fraud and such other 45 different cases in the month of April 2025.
