The Telugu Department of IIMC College, Lakdikapul organized the book release event of "Daasharathi Kavita Jhari" (Unpublished Poetic Collection of Mahakavi Daasharathi Krishnamacharyulu), compiled by Dr. Tirunagari Sarat Chandra and published by IIMC College. E. Ramakrishna, Head of the Telugu Department, IIMC College said that Daasharathi, who turned the tears of Telangana people into a stream of fire and aimed his poetic weapons at the Nizam, and who proclaimed “Na Telangana Koti Ratanala Veena”, has many hidden gems in his unpublished poems.
Chairman of the College and Presiding Guest, Prof. Vangapalli Viswanatham recalled that when Daasharathi was alive, he organized many literary programs through the Yuva Bharati organization. College Principal Kura Raghuveer said that with the intention of bringing to society the works of forgotten literary figures and prominent personalities, IIMC College started book publications.
Chief Guest Prof. Kasireddy Venkat Reddy, Former Professor of Telugu Department, Osmania University, released the book "Daasharathi Kavita Jhari" and presented the first copy to Daasharathi’s daughter Indira and son Lakshman. He spoke about Daasharathi’s poetic life, his movement life, and how he awakened the people of Telangana through his poetry. Daasharathi’s son-in-law Gouri Shankar said it was a matter of great happiness that IIMC College published Daasharathi’s unpublished poems.
