Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol’s DDLJ statue inaugural event in London postponed amid India-Pakistan conflict, says report
A grand celebration of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’s 30th anniversary by Aditya Chopra-led Yash Raj Films this week in London’s iconic Leicester Square has now been postponed in light of India’s military response under ‘Operation Sindoor’. For those unversed, to honour Bollywood’s most beloved romantic film, an event was organised to unveil a bronze statue featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol’s iconic DDLJ pose.
According to sources quoted by Zoom, the statue’s inauguration has been deferred following India’s strategic strikes against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir, launched in response to the April terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 civilians. An industry insider informed the news portal, “In keeping with the current situation and to express solidarity with the nation and its brave Army, the DDLJ statue launch has been postponed to a later time and date.”
