Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has directed officials to prepare a robust and visionary plan for the upcoming ‘Palle Panduga 2.0’ programme, aimed at transforming the face of rural Andhra Pradesh. Drawing inspiration from the success of the first phase, he urged officials to ensure that the second edition delivers even greater impact and inclusivity.
Chairing a review meeting with senior officials of the Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Department at his camp office on Tuesday, Pawan Kalyan emphasized that the upcoming phase should be designed to bring urban-level amenities and infrastructure to villages, thereby bridging the urban–rural divide. “The first phase of Palle Panduga showed what collective effort can achieve. Now, we must take it a step further, this time with a transformative vision that redefines rural life across the state,” he said.
He instructed officials to focus on the comprehensive development of rural areas, highlighting key areas such as road construction and maintenance, creation of new link roads, establishment of goshalas, and construction of magic drains for better sanitation and waste management. The Deputy Chief Minister stressed that the initiatives must reflect a forward-looking approach to sustainable rural progress.
Pawan Kalyan also underlined that Palle Panduga 2.0 should be more than a celebration of rural identity, it should become a blueprint for model villages that integrate technology, clean infrastructure, and community-driven development. “We must ensure that our villages are not left behind in the state’s growth story. Every plan, every project must translate into tangible improvement in people’s lives,” he added.
Senior officials, including Special Chief Secretary for Panchayati Raj and Rural Development Shashibhushan Kumar, Commissioner Krishna Teja, OSD Venkata Krishna, and Chief Engineer Balu Naik, attended the review. They discussed in detail the strategies for implementation, timelines, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure transparency and efficiency in execution.
The first phase of Palle Panduga was lauded for its focus on community participation, sanitation drives, and infrastructure rejuvenation in villages. With ‘Palle Panduga 2.0’, the government now seeks to scale up those efforts, making every village a symbol of progress, self-reliance, and pride.
“Our villages are the heart of Andhra Pradesh,” Pawan Kalyan remarked. “Palle Panduga 2.0 will ensure that their heartbeat echoes development, dignity, and hope.”
