‘Mass Maharaja’ Ravi Teja’s much-awaited film Irumudi, starring Priya Bhavani Shankar as the female lead, is set to release on August 21. Directed by Shiva Nirvana and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has generated considerable anticipation through its glimpses, trailer and songs. At a recent press conference, Shiva Nirvana revealed that Irumudi combines three major elements: the Ayyappa Swamy Mala tradition, family emotions and a crime angle.  He clarified that reports of Ram Charan appearing in the film are only social media speculation.

The director said Ravi Teja was not initially considered while developing the story, but he became the perfect choice after hearing the script. Shiva Nirvana also highlighted the authenticity behind the Ayyappa-related portions. He personally undertook the Mala Deeksha, visited Padi Puja and consulted Gurus to ensure the rituals, bhajans and traditions were portrayed accurately. The popular song “Mallepoola Pallaki” has also received an enthusiastic response. The team chose to retain the original singer, Dappu Srinu, respecting devotees’ emotional connection with the song.

Shot extensively around the Sileru region on the Andhra-Odisha border, Irumudi promises a blend of family drama, emotions, action and crime. Shiva Nirvana believes the film offers a fresh backdrop for a star hero and will deliver a memorable theatrical experience.
