Dravidian University, located in Kuppam of Chittoor district, successfully released its semester examination results through Manamitra WhatsApp Governance, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative in the state’s higher education sector.
University officials said the results were made available to students on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. through the Manamitra WhatsApp platform. With this initiative, Dravidian University became the first university in Andhra Pradesh to declare academic results using a WhatsApp-based governance system.
Students were able to access their results by sending a “Hi” message from their mobile phones to the Manamitra WhatsApp Governance number 9552300009, after which the system automatically delivered the semester results. The process eliminated the need for students to visit university websites or campus offices.
Officials stated that the initiative was aimed at ensuring easy, fast, and transparent access to academic information, particularly benefiting students from remote and rural areas who often face technical issues during conventional online result announcements.
The adoption of WhatsApp governance was also seen as a step toward reducing server congestion and improving reliability during peak result hours. The move aligns with the Andhra Pradesh government’s broader push to expand digital governance and citizen-centric service delivery.
Students welcomed the initiative, describing it as a practical and user-friendly approach to academic administration. University authorities indicated that similar digital platforms may be adopted in the future to streamline other academic and administrative services.
