The newly-arrived US Consul General Laura Williams said on Monday that the institutions participating in the 2025 EducationUSA University Fair offer world-class programs across every field — from STEM and business to the humanities and the arts. She inaugurated the fair hosted by the U.S. Embassy and Consulates in India at the Hotel ITC Kohenur.
The fair, aimed to connect students with representatives from more than 30 accredited U.S. universities and colleges runs from August 9 to August 17, covering Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, and Pune.
Speaking on the occasion, Consul General Laura Williams said that studying in the United States is a major commitment, an investment of time, money, and effort. She expressed her happiness to see so many people participating in the fair and added that to be an international student is a privilege that comes with important responsibilities. She also mentioned that qualifying for a U.S. student visa includes demonstrating an intent to comply with U.S. laws.
Attendees interacted directly with U.S. university representatives, explored admissions requirements, scholarships, and campus life, and received guidance from EducationUSA advisers and U.S. Consulate officials on the student visa process. CG Williams noted that EducationUSA provides accurate and comprehensive information free of cost to help choose the right university and also helps in the application process.
