Evey Trans Pvt. Ltd., in collaboration with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC), on Wednesday flagged off 65 new electric buses from the Ranigunj Depot under the TGSRTC 500 Low-Floor City Bus Project.

The induction marks a significant step toward strengthening Hyderabad’s public transport system with a modern, clean, and reliable electric fleet.

These 65 buses are part of the 100-bus allocation planned for the Ranigunj depot, which now joins CNT, Miyapur, HCU, and Hayatnagar depots as one of the five key centres operating under the project.

The TGSRTC 500-bus initiative comprises 450 non-AC and 50 AC low-floor electric city buses. So far, 325 buses have been delivered, and the remaining 175 buses are scheduled for induction by January 2026. With this progress, the Corporation is steadily expanding its electric bus network in line with Hyderabad’s broader shift toward sustainable urban mobility.

The launch ceremony at Ranigunj Depot was attended by senior dignitaries, including Minister for Transport Ponnam Prabhakar, VC & MD TGSRTC Y Nagi Reddy, Mayor of Hyderabad Gadwal Vijaya  Lakshmi and CEO EVEY Trans Pvt Ltd Sandeep Raizada  along with other elected representatives.

Speaking on the occasion, Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said, “These new buses will connect nearly 373 colonies. Over the last two years, our fleet has grown by 40%, and we have also initiated the recruitment of new staff to strengthen services. We are committed to addressing passenger concerns, ensuring cleanliness, introducing electric buses, and establishing new depots to improve public transport facilities. I am very happy to witness the launch of 65 new buses today, which will significantly strengthen urban connectivity," he said.

Sandeep Raizada, CEO of Evey Trans, said, “With today’s launch, this becomes our 69th depot across India and the fifth depot in Telangana, as part of our planned expansion to six depots in the state. Across the country, we are successfully operating over 3,100 buses across 10 States and 2 Union Territories. We are proud to add 65 new buses to the fleet today and reaffirm our commitment to delivering the remaining buses by January 2026. All our buses are operating in excellent condition, ensuring a smooth and comfortable ride for passengers," he said.

The newly inducted 12-metre low-floor electric buses are equipped with lithium-ion batteries, regenerative braking, intelligent transport systems with real-time tracking, fire detection and suppression systems, and advanced motor and controller technology. With a seating capacity of 36, the buses offer pneumatic doors, automated announcements, digital display boards, USB charging points, and special accessibility features for the elderly and differently abled.

These buses will operate on major routes connecting Secunderabad, Kondapur, Isnapur, Borabanda, Ramayampet, Gachibowli, and Miyapur, significantly improving daily commute convenience.

The induction of the new fleet is expected to reduce noise and emissions, lower operational costs, and deliver a quieter, smoother, and eco-friendly travel experience for passengers across high-density corridors in Hyderabad.

This launch reflects the shared commitment of TGSRTC and Evey Trans Pvt. Ltd., a MEIL Group company, to building a world-class, safe, accessible, and environmentally responsible urban transport system. As Hyderabad continues to expand its electric fleet, Telangana moves steadily toward a greener and more sustainable future.
