‘Evolution of Radio Broadcasting’ book launched at IIMC College

On the occasion of World Radio Day, the Department of Telugu at IIMC College organized a book launch event at the Challa Som Raj Ram Auditorium. The book titled “Evolution of Radio Broadcasting – Historical, Technical and Creative Perspectives” authored by former Director of All India Radio Dr. Nagasuri Venugopal was formally released. The Chief Guest, retired IAS officer Nandivelugu Mukteswara Rao, unveiled the book and presented the first copy to P. Poornachandra Rao. 

Speaking on the occasion, Mukteswara Rao stated that the book would help today’s youth understand many lesser-known aspects of radio broadcasting. Presiding over the event, Chairman Vangapalli Viswanatham remarked that Dr. Nagasuri Venugopal has explained the historical, technical and creative evolution of radio stations and programs in India. 

Aditya Margam, Chairman of Gandhi Darshan, spoke about the significance of World Radio Day and expressed happiness that his friend Nagasuri had written a book on the evolution of radio broadcasting. College Principal Kura Raghuveer noted that the book contains many valuable insights into radio programs. Later, the author Dr. Nagasuri Venugopal, addressed the gathering. 

He explained that the book covers various topics ranging from the origins and essence of radio as a medium to ways of making radio programs engaging. The event concluded with Chairman Vangapalli Viswanatham felicitating the guests. Sanskrit lecturer N. Madhavi delivered the vote of thanks.
