Students of the third-year B.Com program at Helen Keller's Institute for the Deaf celebrated their farewell party on Saturday at Kattikaneni Saraswati Function. The program featured a variety of cultural performances including dances, songs and a ramp walk by the students. Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender attended as the Chief Guest. Kollu Nageswara Rao joined as the honoured guest, while Gopu Ramana Reddy and K. Meena Upendar Reddy served as special guests.
Speaking at the event, Eatala Rajender congratulated the institute's Chairman Pathan Umar Khan for providing quality education to deaf students from school level up to degree programs. He informed that in his constituency pensions were provided to around 75,000 persons with various disabilities.Chairman Pathan Umar Khan addressed the outgoing students advising them to settle well in life, reach higher positions, and support their families. Principal Jajula Anjayaiah noted that around 2,700 graduates from the program have secured employment in government and private sectors.
