The Hyderabad City Police, along with the Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW), arrested two foreign nationals and seized 150 grams of MDMA valued at Rs 25 lakh during a joint operation in the Rajendra Nagar area on March 3.

A case has been registered as Crime No. 236/2026 under Sections 8(c) read with 22(C) and 29 of the NDPS Act, 1985, along with Section 14 of the Foreigners Act at Rajendra Nagar Police Station.

The main accused, Al-Aqar Abdurabu Mohammed Abdurabu (37), a Yemen national residing in Tolichowki, has a history of multiple NDPS cases in Hyderabad and Bengaluru. Police said he entered India on a student visa, discontinued his studies, and allegedly turned to drug peddling for financial gain. A non-bailable warrant is pending against him in an earlier case.

His associate, Hasan W. A. Hashem (28), a Palestinian national residing in Bengaluru, was also arrested. He has a previous NDPS case registered in Yelahanka, Bengaluru. According to police, the two re-established contact through social media and were involved in drug trafficking activities in Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Police said the accused procured MDMA from an absconding supplier through online transactions and distributed it using direct deliveries and the dead-drop method. One knife and four mobile phones were also seized during the operation.

Police urged the public to stay away from drugs and share any information by contacting H-NEW at 8712661601 or dialing 100 or 112.
