The Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed officials to take stringent measures against sand smuggling and ensure fair distribution of sand to the public. In a high-level review meeting on Monday, the CM emphasized that no one involved in sand smuggling will be ignored, ordering immediate action against offenders.

To curb illegal transportation, the CM announced the appointment of special officers to monitor sand smuggling. District Collectors and SPs will be given clear responsibilities, and HYDRAA unit will be deployed to tackle smuggling operations in the capital. Additionally, vigilance and enforcement surveillance will be strengthened with 360-degree cameras, solar lights, entry and exit points, and strong fencing at sand stockyards.

a major relief to the underprivileged, CM Revanth Reddy ordered the provision of free sand for the Indiramma Indlu housing scheme, ensuring smooth construction of homes for the poor. He also directed officials to make sand available to the general public at affordable rates and stop black marketing. Pending bills related to sand distribution will be cleared immediately.

To enhance transparency, the CM proposed changes in the online booking system, including revised booking hours and a tracking mechanism for sand transport vehicles. A dedicated consumer grievance portal will be launched for quick issue resolution. Officials were instructed to ensure that sand reaches customers within 48 hours of booking.

Strict action will be taken against officials involved in illegal activities, and the CM himself may conduct surprise inspections if necessary. Revanth Reddy reiterated that responsibilities will be handed over to permanent employees in a transparent manner to prevent irregularities.
