The Jogulamba Gadwal district has shown significant progress in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, climbing from 21st place to 3rd position at the state level in a short span of time. District Collector Rizwan Basha Sheikh announced this development in a statement on Friday. He attributed the success to the district administration’s clear action plan and swift measures taken to identify and rectify shortcomings in the electoral roll revision process.

The Collector stated that due to increased monitoring of supervisors and Booth Level Officers (BLOs), along with timely corrective actions, the district’s SIR progress improved from 63% to 74%. As a result, the district, which stood at 21st rank as on February 27 rose to the 3rd position by March 31, 2026. The Collector highlighted that continuous meetings with Booth Level Officers, mandal-level review meetings and active involvement of political representatives and stakeholders helped enhance coordination and transparency in the process.

Looking ahead to the upcoming phases of the SIR, he called upon officials and staff to maintain the same approach and strive to bring the district to the 1st rank in the SIR reports at the earliest.
