‘Govt committed towards development of temples’

State Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Minority & Law Minister NMD Farooq and Srisailam MLA Budda Rajasekhar said on Monday that the government is committed towards developing various temples and to provide amenities to the devotees. Rs 17.50 crore was released for various development programs for the Mahanandi shrine, a prominent pilgrimage site in Nandyal district. 

On Monday, the foundation stone laying ceremony and Bhoomi Puja of various development works like accommodation facilities and dormitory within the Mahanandi  Devasthanam complex were undertaken. The ministers and the MLA also  participated in the inauguration and Bhoomi Puja programmes of various development programmes in Sri Kameswari Sahitha Mahanandeeswara Swamy temple in Srisailam constituency of Nandyal district. 

The foundation stone was laid for the accommodation complex to be built by the Endowments department at a cost of Rs 10 crores. Similarly the first phase of the  dormitory built at a cost of Rs 3.6 crores sanctioned by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) was inaugarated. Bhoomi Puja was also done for the reconstruction of Kashi Vishweshwara Swamy temple adopted by Mahanandeeswara Swamy Devasthanam in Thammadapalli village of Mahanandi mandal. Later, special pujas were performed at the temple in Mahanandi under the supervision of Executive Officer Srinivas Reddy.Many people participated in the event.
