Former minister and Siddipet MLA T Harish Rao strongly criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his allegations against K T Rama Rao concerning the Formula E racing event in Assembly on Friday. Harish hailed the High Court's decision, which prevented the arrest of KTR, calling it a "moral victory" for the latter.
The court's orders have made it clear that this is a baseless case. KTR has achieved moral success, and this exposes Revanth Reddy's Goebbels-like propaganda, Harish said while addressing a press meet in Telangana Bhavan on Friday.
Refuting Revanth's allegations of Rs 600 crore scam, Harish Rao clarified that the Formula E race brought significant economic benefits to Telangana. "The event was conducted with an investment of Rs 30 crore, generating Rs 700 crore in GDP for the state. Even global consultancy firm Nielsen reported that the event enhanced Hyderabad's reputation and economy, Rao stated. He also highlighted that Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and other states conducted similar events with higher investments.
Further Harish explained that this was a strategic initiative to position Hyderabad as a global EV investment destination. The claims of procedural lapses are being falsely equated with corruption.
Harish Rao criticized Revanth Reddy for disrupting Telangana's progress.
"Revanth lacks vision and wisdom. His reckless actions led to the cancellation of the Formula E agreement as the state could have hosted races for three years. This is not just about KTR; it's about Telangana's global image," he added.
He also questioned Congress's governance over the past year.
"They came to power promising change, but there’s been no progress. Instead, they indulge in diversionary tactics, filing false cases against KTR and other leaders," Harish said.
No matter how many baseless cases are filed, KTR and the BRS leadership will continue exposing the misdeeds of this government, the BRS leader said.
